Summertime

This summer we've been...going on a few trips to my mother-in-law's place at Goose Creek, taking swimming lessons (J and H), participating in soccer camp (B), etc. so it hasn't felt like a normal summer.  Maybe this is the new normal.

H turns 5 today.  She requested tacos for supper with a dance party to follow.  Today we're going to work on getting the girls' bathroom and B's room organized.  We're trying to gear up for the start of school again.

Our new baby will be here in late February.  We told the children on our anniversary, July 24.  They were all jumping around and excited.  I'm sleeping better now than I have in the past few weeks since we found out we were having a baby.  I've been reading this big thick Kennedy book called The Kennedy Men and I'm almost done with it.  My late nights and early mornings of sleeplessness have helped me to finish it.  MaMa and PaPa were both the 6th children in their families, so this baby is in very good company.

Favorite things to do...
me - read a book to the children - from LG up, everyone loves it.
me - play games with the children - finally cleaned out the closet last week so we can actually get to our games now.
B - play/practice soccer
D - play anything with all the girls
J - play anything with all the girls
H - play anything with all the girls
LG - read books, talk, mimic others, sing songs and do the motions
Steve and me - catch up around the house

New job for Steve starts on Wednesday - He'll be at a local alternative school focusing on science, math, and technology. He's excited and a little nervous.

This weekend we had a birthday party for H at Goose Creek with Mama C, Darlene and Tommy, and the LeGrand family.  Then on Saturday we had a joint birthday party with Jean at her house with Casey's family and Melba's family.  At the Saturday party, we had water balloons which were a hit with the older kids.

Happy birthday, H!
